Position Title: Staff Accountant Atlanta GA
Description: The Staff Accountant position will need to be skilled in accounting principles. Accounts payables, Accounts Receivables, Cash posting, Tax filing, journal entries, account reconciliations, Customer disputes and will provide financial, administrative and clerical services to ensure accuracy and efficiency of operations.
RESPONSIBILTIES:

Check for proper approvals and authorizations. Enter and process payments.

Maintain fixed assets and depreciation schedules.

Prepare and general ledger account reconciliation

Apply cash receipts to customer accounts.

Make collection calls when necessary

Preparing sales tax reports/sales tax reporting

Assist Divisional Controller, Controller and Assistant Controller in preparing tax and government reports.

Evaluate inventories and material costs at period end.

Assist in preparing financial reports.

Process and control customer Accounts Receivables.

Post customer cash

Effectively resolved Customer disputes

Journal entries

Account reconciliation

Additional duties as assigned by management

Must be able to multi-task and work in a high volume workload environment and be results driven

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s Degree Accounting/Finance
2 to 5 years experience in Accounting
Experience consolidated accounting environment
PC competency (including MS Word and MS Excel, SAP)
Experience in using accounting software/ERP accounting systems.
Experience with SAP
Strong math background
Advance Excel skills/Intermediate Excel skills
Proven ability to solve accounting problems, balance bank statements, reconcile general ledger accounts.


LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret financial statements, general business periodicals, professional journals, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively with customers and employees of the company.


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, volume, and net present value.

REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. High Analytical skills.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Employee is regularly required to walk and talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit. Vision requirements include: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS
Operating standards - The employee will need to meet or exceed the Operating Standards set in the areas of quality, cost, safety, planning, customer satisfactions, supervision, efficiency, and productivity. Such standards will be set annually and communicated to the manager.

Personal growth - Each year there will be professional goals developed and agreed to by the manager and supervisor.

Employee relations – The employee will be evaluated regarding his/her behaviors associated with appropriate human interaction, respect, and communication.

Creativity – This will be evaluated by how active the employee is in participating in advancing the business through new and innovative ideas.
